Follow the verified setup path, check local-network permissions or contact Giesa Core at[email protected].
Email SupportREQUIREMENTS
Check compatibility first.
- iPhone
- iOS 17.0 or later
- Blender
- 4.5 or later
- Desktop
- Windows or macOS
- Network
- Same trusted local network
- Discovery
- Bonjour / mDNS available
GCDeck communicates directly with Blender. No Giesa Core account or cloud backend is required. The authenticated TCP transport is not encrypted with TLS, so use only a trusted local network.
INSTALLATION
Install from Disk in Blender.
- 01
Download the verified GCDeck add-on ZIP from the Download page.
- 02
In Blender, open Edit → Preferences → Add-ons.
- 03
Select Install from Disk and choose the downloaded ZIP without unpacking it.
- 04
Enable the GCDeck add-on.
- 05
Open the 3D Viewport sidebar with N and select the GCDeck panel.
- 06
Start the local GCDeck server.
FIRST CONNECTION
Pair with a fresh QR code.
- 01
Connect the iPhone and computer to the same trusted, non-guest local network.
- 02
Start the GCDeck server in Blender.
- 03
Open GCDeck and allow Local Network access when iOS asks.
- 04
Select the discovered computer or use the connection information shown by the add-on.
- 05
Display a new QR pairing code in Blender and scan it with GCDeck.
- 06
Wait for authentication and the initial Blender state sync.
DIAGNOSTICS
Check Bonjour, permissions and the firewall.
Bonjour discovery does not find Blender
Check that the devices share the same non-guest Wi-Fi or LAN, multicast is not isolated, VPN is disabled for the test and Bonjour or mDNS traffic on UDP 5353 is allowed.
Local Network permission was denied
Open iOS Settings, find GCDeck and enable Local Network access. Return to GCDeck and start discovery again.
Windows or macOS firewall blocks the connection
Allow Blender and the GCDeck add-on through the firewall. Allow mDNS discovery on UDP 5353 and the TCP port displayed by the add-on. Do not expose the TCP port to the public internet.
QR pairing fails
Generate a new QR code and scan it promptly. Pairing credentials may expire or become invalid after reinstalling, resetting or forgetting a device.
The app connects but commands are unavailable
Check the active Blender mode, selection, camera and open editor. Context-aware controls are enabled only when Blender can perform the corresponding action.
RECONNECT
Resynchronize, then pair again if needed.
- 01
Confirm that Blender and the GCDeck add-on server are still running.
- 02
Confirm that the iPhone remains on the same local network as the computer.
- 03
Reopen GCDeck to trigger discovery and state synchronization again.
- 04
If the saved credentials no longer match, forget the computer in GCDeck.
- 05
Generate a fresh QR pairing session in Blender and pair again.
